The Volyn Foundation, led by its head Anna Danylchuk, recently participated in the EuropeanaTech 2023 Conference. This event brought together experts and professionals in digital cultural heritage to discuss the latest technological advancements and best practices.
Volyn Foundation participated in a hybrid session and discussion “From Shelf to Europeana” moderated by Henk Alkemade and Andrija Sagic.
During the discussion, Anna Danylchuk delivered a presentation on the dangers and destructions that the Russian war imposes on Ukrainian cultural heritage objects. Her speech highlighted the urgent need for international collaboration to protect and digitise Ukraine’s cultural heritage amidst ongoing threats.
The conference provided an invaluable platform for the Volyn Foundation to share their experiences from the DGTRAN project (supported by the Creative Europe Programme), emphasising the importance of digital transformation in preserving cultural heritage. Participants discussed innovative solutions and strategies to mitigate the risks faced by cultural heritage sites in conflict zones, reinforcing the need for global solidarity and support.
The Volyn Foundation’s involvement in EuropeanaTech 2023 showcased our commitment to cultural preservation and fostered new partnerships and collaborations aimed at enhancing the protection and digitisation of cultural heritage in Ukraine. This participation underscores our dedication to integrating Ukrainian cultural heritage into the European and global context, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
