On January 31, the city of Lutsk officially introduced its Honorary Ambassadors for the 2025–2026 term. Among the twelve distinguished individuals are Larysa Ivshyna, editor-in-chief of the “Day” newspaper; Olha Olkhova, poet and literary curator; and Anna Danylchuk, head of the Volyn Foundation. The initiative, launched by the Lutsk City Council in 2024, aims to strengthen the city’s global presence by engaging respected figures from various fields to promote Lutsk both in Ukraine and abroad.
Anna Danylchuk is a prominent expert in cultural heritage and digital transformation, recognized for her work in promoting Ukrainian history and identity. As the Head of the Volyn Foundation, she actively contributes to international cultural initiatives, particularly through projects supported by the Creative Europe programme. One of such notable achievements includes co-authoring the transnational tourism route “The Belt of Vytautas,” which focuses on digitizing and preserving historical sites linked to Vytautas the Great across Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania.
Additionally, Anna is a program expert for Creative Europe, House of Europe, and the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
Beyond her work in cultural heritage, Anna is also a renowned media personality. She is the creator of the English-language YouTube channel “Anna from Ukraine,” which has over 300,000 subscribers and 28 million views. Through this platform, Anna shares insights about Ukraine’s history, culture, and current events, reaching an international audience. Additionally, Anna joined the Suspilne Kultura team to create the documentary series “The Big Russian Lies,” which critically examines and debunks narratives of Russian propaganda.
During the ambassadorial ceremony, Anna highlighted the importance of historical and personal narratives in shaping global perceptions of Ukraine. Anna described Lutsk as a city with a unique atmosphere that embodies resilience and serves as an inspiration. In her view, despite existing challenges, Ukraine remains a strong and beautiful country, setting an example for others.
Anna Danylchuk’s recognition as an Honorary Ambassador of Lutsk is a testament to her dedication to cultural advocacy and her efforts in showcasing Ukraine’s heritage and identity to the world. Through her work, Anna continues to strengthen international connections and foster appreciation for Ukrainian history and culture.
