On December 1, 2023, the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University hosted a presentation of initiatives by the Volyn Foundation and the scientific project “City and War” (City Face). The event was organised as part of a joint meeting of the student club for historiography, source studies, and SІD, and the Karazin University History Club.
The presentation aimed to acquaint students and faculty with the work of the Volyn Foundation, their projects supported by the Creative Europe program, and the results of the scientific project “City and War.” The speakers shared their experiences and findings, emphasising the importance of research in cultural heritage and history during wartime. Special thanks go to the event speakers – Anna Bondarenko, Yevhen Rachkov, Anna Danylchuk, and Marta Sydoruk – for their engaging presentations and active participation in the discussion. Their talks not only informed the audience about current issues and challenges but also inspired further research and collaboration.
We also extend our gratitude to the event organisers – Viktoriia Ivashchenko and Yulia Kiselyova – for their excellent organisation of the event and for creating a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences.
The presentation of Volyn Foundation initiatives and the scientific project “City and War” marked an important step in promoting scientific research and public initiatives in the field of history and cultural heritage, highlighting the significance of these studies for contemporary Ukrainian society.
